Belgian Presidency’s Environmental Priorities Discussed in ENVI Meeting
The ENVI Committee recently engaged in discussions with Mr. Alain Maron, Minister of the Brussels-Capital region, on environmental, climate, and biodiversity priorities for the Belgian Presidency.
Focused on Green Deal policies, the Presidency emphasizes a green and just transition, aligning policies with environmental goals, and bolstering the circular economy. Furthermore, efforts to combat water pollution include improved wastewater treatment and stricter pollutant concentration targets. Despite gaps in data on health and environmental impacts, measures like sustainable agriculture practices aim to mitigate diffuse nutrient pollution.
