New reports on a Water Resilient Europe
The EU Commission released the three Water Resilient Europe – a contribution from EU research reports, one per objective of the Water Resilience Strategy:
- Restoring and protecting the water cycle as a basis for sustainable water supply: Water resilience in Europe cannot be achieved without systematically restoring the water cycle through ecosystem-based management, science-driven tools, and integrated governance, supported by sustained R&I investment
- Building a water-smart economy together with citizens and economic actors: Europe already has the innovation capacity to build a competitive and water-smart economy; the priority now is accelerating uptake through coherent regulation, targeted finance, digital infrastructure, and governance innovation.
- Ensuring clean and affordable water for all: Ensuring clean and affordable water for all requires combining technological innovation with inclusive governance, robust monitoring, fair pricing, and active citizen engagement, fully aligned with EU water and social policies.
