Digitalisation Action Plan Call for Evidence is now open
The European Commission has launched a Call for Evidence for the upcoming EU Action Plan for the Digitalisation of the Water Sector, a flagship initiative under the European Water Resilience Strategy.
As announced in the 2025 Water Resilience Strategy and the Commission Work Programme for 2026, the plan aims to modernise water management through data-driven innovation.
Digital technologies are essential to improve water efficiency, reduce losses, strengthen infrastructure resilience, and boost Europe’s competitiveness. The EU Commission is seeking expertise, best practices, and evidence on how data-driven innovation, smart metering, smart sensors, and the routine use of Earth observation can improve water resilience, efficiency, and management.
Stakeholders are encouraged to contribute to the consultation until 24 June 2026.
